Solidarity with Ethiopia and Lalibela in Corona times

This Monday, March 30th, an unprecedented campaign by PBF begins in Lalibela: clean water, soap and, above all, a broad information campaign for our almost 170 old, vulnerable people and their relatives (see the report by Mesay Mequanent).

Even today, at least half a dozen e-mails or WhatsApp from Ethiopia reach me, mostly there are more every day. The letters come from students and concerned friends from the foundation. They often have precise information about the situation in Europe or even in Switzerland. They take a living part of what moves us here. They also mention their fear of their own loved ones. They live hundreds of kilometers away. I wish them courage and confidence, inner freedom and so many comforting things. The letters express their prayers for us in touching words, they think of us in the many traditional forms. Their gratitude for everything we can do for and with them thanks to donations finds a moving expression in these letters. They are thanks, request and concern for our health at the same time.
