Where They Were: A Season of Heavy Shadows
Life had dealt this family an exceptionally difficult hand. Firazer Ali, the mother—a loving soul and the heart of her home—lost her both eyes’ sight completely, navigating a world suddenly plunged into darkness while carrying the immense responsibilities of raising two young children. Without accessible support systems, every single day was an exhausting battle just to get by.
When you walk past the small restaurant on an ordinary afternoon, the first thing you notice is the aroma: warm, spicy, comforting. Yet behind this fragrance beats a heart – the heart of a family that has transformed scarcity into horizon.
A Sign of Dignity
In the dry highlands of Gashena, two new community water fountains are rising. Simple in appearance, yet profound in meaning. Soon, they will provide clean and safe drinking water to more than 200 households, bringing relief, healing, and renewed dignity to families who have carried the weight of scarcity for too long.
For the past 10 years, PBF has been supporting a feeding program in an informal school in Mathare Skums Nairobi. We started with the Page Vision where children from the informal settlement who have no place in the local public schools converge every morning for basic classes provided by volunteer teachers from the neighborhood.

Healing is not something that begins in a hospital for many people, particularly those who are living with elephantiasis. It begins with something small: a pair of shoes. Swollen feet, cracked skin, and constant pain make every step a struggle. Without proper footwear, people can’t walk, work, or join community life. Being barefoot often means being vulnerable, excluded, and invisible.
The Mass Eye Outreach Program at Emmanuel Medium Clinic (EMC) was conducted from June 26 to 28, 2026. This program is usually conducted every quarter and fully sponsored by PBF to support the poorest of the poor. The primary objective is to provide comprehensive eye care, including surgeries and treatments for a wide range of conditions:

The damage to public health services and direct impact on citizens, especially in rural Ethiopia, is also widespread. The loss of electricity disables life-support systems, cold-chain need vaccines and medications, restricts the health data severe especially in Ethiopia.
