PBF Memorial Clinic construction is progressing quickly, and the opening is scheduled for November 17, 2024.
The PBF Memorial Clinic has started by aiming to provide good health care for the poorest of the poor in the surrounding community. On the other hand, it provides greater benefits by generating employment for those who need jobs like daily labor, masons, carpenters, and other positions that currently employ over 100 people directly and indirectly.
In the last 8 months, construction has gone very quickly by involving the poorest of the poor in the labor force. Despite the instability surrounding Lalibela, construction has reached today with roof working.
The clinic’s impact extends beyond just healthcare, as it plays a vital role in boosting the local employment and providing opportunities for job growth. This initiative showcases the commitment of PBF Memorial Clinic to not only improve health outcomes but also contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
- One of our social services is to create job opportunities for women, help them nourish their families and themselves at home, and feel like a good mother to their children! The profile is a great job opportunity that we have been working on continuously for the last 8 months at PBF Memorial Clinic, and it is still going on!
- Our very good point is that there is no discrimination in our daily activities. We are paying an equal rate for males and females! Our female workers are champions for us.
- Enrolling daily workers gives more focus to the villagers; the majority of workers are from the area where clinic construction takes place.
- The instability is still ongoing in the area. The PBF Memorial Clinic construction is the only big project in Lalibela since July that employs many poor people daily.
We say the joy when PBF celebrates March 8 is not by choosing a month but by thinking of women every day, making a good environment, empowering themselves, and making their lives better!
The following video was taken on March 19 and April 3, 2024, in which 45 women and 10 men participated.
