Ownership and voluntary employees

Sponsors and employees of the PBF Foundation

 Sponsorship

The foundation in Switzerland was established in 1994. It has its legal headquarters in Greifensee in the canton of Zurich and is under cantonal supervision. It has been entered in the commercial register of the Canton of Zurich since 24 May 1994. As a non-profit organization, it is exempt from the tax burden. The tax exemption applies to donors in the canton of Zurich. The other cantons usually adopt the tax exemption of the canton in which the foundation is based.

Board of Trustees

As the supreme body of the foundation, the foundation board ensures that the donations are used for a specific purpose and that the accounts are kept correctly. The entire Board of Trustees works on a voluntary basis.

Employees

The Board of Trustees and the Executive Board are supported by other volunteers, in particular in the following matters:

  • Accounting,
  • Maintenance of the PBF website
  • and others.

Control Bodies

The foundation’s accounts are audited annually by an independent auditor in accordance with the cantonal regulations for non-profit organisations. The foundation reports annually to the supervisory authority for foundations, the responsible district council of Uster.

Over the decades, the circle of donors in Switzerland has grown almost exclusively from Peter Bachmann’s personal circle of acquaintances and friends, and today also includes “institutional” donors such as foundations, parishes, associations, etc. All activities of the employees in Switzerland are carried out on a voluntary basis and free of charge. This guarantees extremely low administration costs.
