Tent classroom is destroyed by wind while PBF constructing new building for Debaray Satellite School
PBF commenced the construction of a new classroom at Debaray Satellite School since the previous classroom was in a state of severe disrepair and classes being held in a makeshift tent.
There were particular difficulties when learning in a tent. While trying to stay focused on their studies, students were forced to face the elements—heat, rain, and wind. The school community showed incredible strength and stayed dedicated to education in spite of such difficulties.

The earthworks, walls, and roof works are finished, and the new classroom is expected to be completed by the next two months. The students and teachers are eagerly anticipating moving into a safe and comfortable learning environment.
But before the building is finished, the makeshift tent classroom is destroyed and carried away by the wind. This makes the learning condition very bad and currently students are forced to enter the constructing building, though it is not finished yet.
When children are inside, the construction process becomes extremely difficult. The PBF Lalibela team is facing a significant challenge in completing the construction process according to the intended plan. Currently, the building finishing work is done only when students return home.
In addition, toilet construction is started for these children to make the school environment more conducive for learning. The team is working tirelessly to ensure that the new school building is completed as soon as possible to provide a proper learning environment for the students.
All the student parents and teachers are extremely grateful for the dedication and hard work of the PBF in overcoming these challenges and ensuring a better future for the children. The completion of the new school building will greatly benefit the community and provide a safe and comfortable space for education to thrive.
