The Heifer cow supports a family with differently abled children (Project visit)
Individuals with disabilities are referred to as differently abled in the “spirit of PBF”. This is because it emphasizes their unique abilities and strengths rather than focusing solely on their limitations. This shift in language promotes inclusivity and empowerment within the community. These are PBF’s main targets for support.
There are a significant number of differently abled children in the Soroti District, Teso, Tubur, and other surrounding villages. The reason behind these numbers is unknown. Families of those children have not considered these children. For instance, the father is introduced as having just three children if there are four children at home, one of whom is differently abled.
Strategies were required to support the child and strengthen the family’s bond for the reasons mentioned above. PBF is providing cow support for families with differently abled children. This initiative makes the family look for the kid and provide them with the necessary care and attention.
Supporting these families creates a more inclusive and supportive community for all children, regardless of their abilities. The child will get milk at some point, and the new calf will help the family make money. This not only helps in meeting the nutritional needs of the child but also contributes to the family’s financial stability. By empowering these families, we are promoting a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive.

Families were thrilled with the support. Since it was Peter Bachmann’s 86th birthday, the event had a special meaning.
Additionally, I spoke with Action Love International’s staff about their difficulties and listed the following urgent needs.
- There are still over 500 children waiting for wheelchair and other assistance.
- They need a rehabilitation center that has everything they need in one place, like better management, education, and care.
- Since it is very difficult to transport those children even by motorcycle, they need a car for transportation to medical and other facilities. Most of them cannot sit well independently.
- Staff members do not receive a sufficient allowance to support their survival and transport expenses during their visits to each village.

I really want to thank Jefferson and his staff for their selfless work and the usual support from PBF.
