January 2026: Ethiopia/Lalibela: PBF Memorial Clinic 1st Anniversary celebrated on January 8th, 2026
PBF Memorial Clinic is celebrating the first anniversary day with a colorful and great one-year achievement. This historic day is celebrated in a grand manner and a better future for the community. The program was attended by heads of local health institutions, local administration government officials, community figure elders, religious leaders and educational institutions.
The program was opened by praying with the St. Lalibela rock-hewn church administrator, Aba Hiryakos Tsegaye.
In the program presented, comprehensive one-year institutional achievement reports Number of outpatients, number of patients tested with our laboratory, number of patients tested with our laboratory referred by other health institutions, Permanent and temporary job opportunity creation, the mass campaign for cataract surgery, and free eyeglass gifts for most elderly people. PBF Memorial Clinic is a first-lead clinic that facilitated volunteer health care in the Amhara region 3 times a year.
The anniversary was fruitful, and we sold PBF activities for the community purpose! We learned we have a huge image in the community! We learned from our first anniversary day.
- We are becoming very well-known and have a good reputation in the rural areas.The city administration strongly supports and recognizes our initiatives.
- Our free services have reached every home, and there is community satisfaction.
- Our capacity: we have a better diagnostic center, and we can be certified very soon to be a diagnostic center.
- Institutional standard: The guests praised our Facility CASH (Clean and Safe Health Facility) model for all health facilities in Ethiopia. They said, “We never smell any odor here; this must be visited by other health facility officials to share experiences.”
Overall, it was a very rewarding experience and one that made us realize that we were on the right track. But we, the team, feel that we have to do more and more.
