December 2025: Uganda/Soroti: presents for differently abled children

We are deeply grateful for your generous and timely support, which has made it possible for us to successfully conduct a wheelchair distribution that has transformed lives in a profound way. Through your support, we were able to provide over 20 children living with disabilities, as well as elderly persons, with the priceless gift of mobility.

For many of the beneficiaries, this was the first wheelchair they had ever received in their entire lives. During the distribution, several beneficiaries and caregivers shared emotional testimonies of the long and painful journeys they have endured. Many spoke of years spent crawling, being carried, or remaining confined indoors due to lack of mobility support. Others shared how they have lived with constant pain, exclusion, and humiliation—often being called hurtful names because of their disabilities.

The wheelchairs you funded did not only restore movement; they restored dignity, confidence, and hope. Parents expressed relief after years of physical and emotional exhaustion from carrying their children over long distances. Elderly beneficiaries testified that they can now sit with others, move independently, and feel valued again within their communities.

A recurring and heartfelt appeal from the community was the urgent need for a rehabilitation center. Many of these children and elderly persons cannot access healthcare facilities or education due to distance, poverty, and lack of mobility aids. Families strongly expressed the desire for a safe place where therapy, rehabilitation, basic medical care, and inclusive education could be accessed—especially for those who have been neglected for years.

Your support has clearly highlighted both the impact of mobility assistance and the overwhelming unmet needs that still exist in our communities. This distribution has strengthened trust in our work and renewed hope among families who had almost given up.
