November 2025: Uganda / Soroti: Emergency Relief Distribution Report – Flood-Affected Families

Emergency Relief Distribution Report – Flood-Affected Families in Teso Region

  1. Introduction

On 6th Nov 2025, Action of Love International (AoLI) conducted an emergency relief distribution exercise to support families severely affected by the ongoing floods in rural communities of Teso. The intervention was made possible through the generous funding and partnership of the  PBF. This humanitarian response aimed to restore hope and dignity to flood-affected families who have lost their homes, property, and livelihoods. Many of these families are currently living in makeshift shelters and struggling to meet their daily needs.

  1. Items Distributed

Despite the heavy rains that disrupted our initial distribution plans and delayed the start of the distribution, the event was successfully carried out. The relief package included essential items such as:

  • Tents for temporary shelter
  • Blankets and bedding
  • Food items (including Maize flour, sugar, salt, and beans)
  • Cooking oil
  • Bathing and laundry soap

These items were distributed to the most affected households identified by local leaders and community volunteers.

  1. Attendance and Coordination

The event was honored by the presence of key government representatives, including the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), who joined the AoLI team in overseeing the distribution. Their participation reflected the strong collaboration between AoLI, the government, and local communities in addressing humanitarian needs.

Both officials extended their sincere appreciation to PBF for standing with the people of Teso during this difficult time. They commended the continued partnership and expressed their commitment to work with AoLI in future initiatives—specially to transform the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and orphans in Uganda.

  1. Community Response

The beneficiaries expressed overwhelming gratitude to Action of Love International and PBF for the timely support. Many shared emotional testimonies, describing how the assistance brought renewed hope after losing nearly everything to the floods.

In a moving moment, community members and local leaders offered heartfelt prayers for Dr. Peter and the entire PBF family, asking God to bless them abundantly, keep them safe, and grant them long life so they can continue extending their love and compassion to the people of Uganda.

  1. Conclusion

The distribution exercise was a great success despite the weather challenges. It brought smiles and relief to dozens of struggling families who had nowhere else to turn. This act of kindness once again demonstrated the deep compassion and commitment of PBF towards transforming lives in Uganda.

Action of Love International extends its heartfelt appreciation to PBF and to Dr. Peter for their unwavering support, love, and generosity. Together, we are not only restoring hope but also rebuilding lives in the Teso region and beyond.
