Laudato Si village became a center of PBF activities.
The recently built Laudato Si village became a center of PBF activities, offering a safe and supportive environment for those in need. It has over a year since delivered for the destitutes in the community, providing essential resources and services to improve their quality of life. The success of the village has inspired us to adopt similar models for sustainable development and social support.
PBF wants to initiate a self-help project for the people living in the village as a sustainable source of income. The project includes vocational training programs to empower individuals to become self-sufficient and break the cycle of poverty. For this, our Pearl becomes a vocational training center for these people. Currently we are purchasing a weaving machine to provide skills training in textile production, allowing villagers to create marketable products and generate income. Additionally, we are partnering with local businesses to create job opportunities for program graduates, ensuring long-term economic stability for the community.
After placing the first stone in 2023, Dr. Peter made his first visit to the village. To integrate the village into our projects, PBF supported a cooking stove for the residents of Laudato Si Village. This stove was done by PBF former orphan students Fisha and Sisay. They got a patent for their newly invented electric stove. The electric stove has been a game-changer for the residents, improving efficiency and safety in their daily cooking routines.
