Preparation for the opening of PBF Memorial Clinic makes a special day in PBF history in Ethiopia.
Following fourteen months of diligent effort, teamwork, and dedication, the clinic’s construction was successfully completed. The clinic is well-positioned to offer the community first-rate healthcare services because of its solid foundation.
Then, the focus shifted to finalizing staff training, stocking medical supplies, and ensuring all equipment is in working order for the grand opening. The clinic has acquired its foundational furnishings and medical equipment in the past two weeks, thanks to PBF.
During my stay in Sri Lanka, I got a chance to meet a world-famous Emeritus professor, Sarath Chandrajeewa. Since the clinic is still named after our father, Dr. Peter Bachmann, I requested him make a bronze statue of his head. Although it faces significant obstacles at customs, it arrives during this time.
Karunaratne, a silver medalist, and our friends from Sri Lanka also sent another precise gift to the clinic that they established for the Lalibela community. St. Lalibela built all the testament and Jesus Christ’s life through the rock-hewn churches. Karu completed this in a single piece of wood and sent the clinic this amazing gift. He also sent a second wooden bee-shaped watch. The customs process takes three days to complete.
All those precious gifts from different countries are collected to make the opening day more special. The date of opening in Ethiopia is known as the birth date of Jesus Christ, before 2017 years, and also the birth date of St. Lalibela and St. Na’akutole’ab. This makes it more special to the people of Lalibela and Ethiopia.
Throughout the whole building process, we all felt that God had provided us with grace, blessings, and protection. It’s more than just a word; it is a miracle. We are excited to finally open our doors and provide quality healthcare to those in need. The support and guidance we received throughout this journey have truly been a testament to the power of faith and perseverance.
We are all grateful to PBF for making all of this possible.
The opening date is once again extended to all.
