Disabled children sleep on mattresses and have blankets for the first time – they experience Christmas

While the whole world celebrates Christmas, PBF enabled the children with disabilities in Teso to celebrate this festival with a smile for the first time in their lives. Most of these children have never experienced such a wonderful thing in their lives as they were all surprised that Action of Love International supported them and their family with Christmas gifts such as mattresses, blankets, maize flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, soaps, drinks etc. with the help of PBF.

The caregivers testified that these children with disabilities survived even during the Christmas season on cassava as they can never afford such things that they get on this day. They thanked the donors and PBF for not forgetting these children. They ask that we can continue to support them. These children have never seen a gift since they were born and it is like a miracle for them to sleep on a mattress for the first time. Many of them could not even afford a blanket until now.

ActionforLove continuously calls on society to love and share with people with disabilities, especially during the Christmas season.

With this in mind, we keep stressing the need for the public to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society.

Personal Testimonies:

Robert Engole, one of the caregivers of people with disabilities in Pingire Sub-county, Serere District, says that in most cases, the public tends to ignore people with disabilities but for someone from afar to surprise them with gifts is great.

Papilio Atuku, one of the people with disabilities, says that he will now enjoy from home because everything is taken care of in the Christmas basket.

Hellen Imojot and Ariao Anna Francis, some of the caregivers of people with disabilities, praised the donor for even thinking of them at this critical time when the meal is at the heart of the celebrations.
