PBF initiatives are continued for Elephantiasis-infected Manja communities
Manja communities have been the focus of PBF for the past one and half year because they align with the organization’s mission objectives. PBF supported these communities with donkey self-help projects, water project health insurance, and sustained support for the elephantiasis rehabilitation center.
The number of patients visiting the center is occasionally rising. The water fountains that were previously built are vital for the center’s needs, including the preparation of herbal medications. As a result of the growing number of clients, the center now requires a water tanker in order to better supply water. PBF is exploring ways to further support the center in meeting these growing needs.
In the last one and a half years, 650 patients visited the center and got health education and herbal treatments and other provisions. Currently, 256 clients are following the herbal treatment, and every month more than 30 patients get recovery. The center’s success in providing health education and herbal treatments has led to a positive impact on the community’s overall well-being.
The elephantiasis rehabilitation center extends support for many targets by professional-based, implemented health education. The education includes hygienic foot washing through local herbs and salts. Currently, soap production and provision for those marginalized communities are started.
PBF intended to provide more health insurance coverage for 2025. These innocent people are grateful for PBF.
