September 2024: Ethiopia / Bongo: Shoes Support for Elephantiasis infected marginalized Manja tribe

PBF Shoes Support for Elephantiasis infected marginalized Manja tribe.

In the last two years, PBF has contributed significant support for the Manja community. Elephantiasis disease and other forms of sociocultural isolation have a significant impact on the community. After Aba Mathowes introduced these marginalized communities to PBF, they received various forms of support.

All these above-mentioned projects were mainly focused on improving the livelihood and health of these marginalized communities. This is because nobody has given voice to this voiceless community. The leg swelling disease (elephantiasis) is typically prevalent in this place, and most of the community people are highly affected.

Wearing shoes is one of the prevention methods for these diseases. However, most of them have no economic capacity to afford shoes. Therefore, the PBF Foundation has taken the initiative to provide shoes to the Manja tribe in order to help prevent the spread of diseases like elephantiasis. This effort is crucial in improving the overall health and well-being of this marginalized community.
