Interior Middle Clinic in Lalibela/Ethiopia half financially secured

The history is repeated here: The initiative goes back to a young doctor, Dr Taddese Taye, a nutritionist Getachew Sale, and an experienced health expert, Abebe Zewdu. They founded a registered association with the aim of building a clinic in Lalibela. In short, the basic idea of the three Ethiopian specialists who were trained by our foundation is: creating for the people. They want to put the knowledge and skills they have acquired at the service of the poorest of the poor among their compatriots. They see their commitment as a return to the foundation and are a reminder of everything that it has brought to life in Lalibela over the past two decades.

As early as the end of 2022, the association managed to acquire suitable property and realize the construction of the PBF Memorial Clinic with private donations from PBF amounting to CHF 103,000. Details can be found on the Peter Bachmann Foundation website.

What is still missing is the entire equipment (basic care) of the hospital ward, which is scheduled to start operations on November 17, 2024. The costs for this amount to 200’000 CHF. Half of this amount has already been committed at the end of May 2024.
